Dr. Erica Viscovind PT, DPT

Erica Viscovind is a passionate and skilled physical therapist specializing in outpatient orthopedics, pelvic floor physical therapy and sports rehabilitation. This personal experience fueled her commitment to helping others achieve life-changing physical and emotional transformations through targeted, patient-centered care.

Experience and Education

Erica began her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach, in 2015. During her undergraduate years, she was an active member of the cross country and track teams, demonstrating her love for running and athletics. Erica also gained valuable experience through a sports science research internship focused on motor control and learning, collaborating with USA Track and Field and CSULB athletics. Her passion for mentoring young athletes led her to volunteer as an assistant cross country and track coach at her high school, further solidifying her commitment to sports and rehabilitation.

In 2020, Erica graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of California, San Francisco / San Francisco State University. Her doctoral research included a systematic review on the effectiveness of yoga as an adjunctive therapy for individuals with eating disorders, as well as electives in running biomechanics. Following a successful clinical rotation in San Luis Obispo, Erica decided to make the Central Coast her home, where she began her career. Since then she has treated a wide array of musculoskeletal and postoperative conditions and had the privilege of working with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Athletics.
